Good news everyone ....... -DRUM ROLE PLEASE- After much deliberation I've decided that the name of this blog will remain Deep Fried Stilettos...... because that's just who I am....who we are....Thanks so much for your input everyone I really appreciate it.....

I've got a very "wordy" and slightly lengthy post today.... I'm answering some of the questions that have been asked (sorry it's taken so long to respond), there some random things about me thrown in as well.......

If you've got any questions, comments or suggestions....let me know!

This was taken a few weeks ago, before I did my braids.

1.       My name is actually Charity, you know… like charity begins at home. My friends call me Love or Chari or Cha-Cha interchangeably. When I was younger I preferred being called by my full name, now I don’t mind what I’m called.

2.       I’m 4’11 but look a bit taller in photographs.

3.       I spend 75% of my waking hours daydreaming………..I assume that’s why I hardly dream at night.

4.       There’s an unquenchable thirst inside of me that yearns for adventure…no matter what form it comes in.

5.       Making people happy makes me happy….. I love entertaining people. But I don’t mind being alone…sometime I crave solitude……..

6.       I’m a sophomore in university, I’m studying nutrition and dietetics.

7.       My father is a Rastafarian and my grandmother is half Amerindian more specifically she’s half Carib.

8.       I was born in the twin island state of Antigua and Barbuda, I’ve only ever travelled to London and now Trinidad where I study. There are so many other places that I want to visit.

9.       I listen to music, in almost every waking moment……I live for really amazing lyrics in any song. I love anything remotely indie or alternative……. I don’t generally like listening to very popular music you know that’s being played all the time…everywhere…unless it’s indie ….. or indie like.

10.   I’m ridiculously clumsy and accident prone…….. It no longer embarrasses me I’ve come to realise that’s just who I am.

11.   I live in the Caribbean, and as far as I know they’re not many Caribbean bloggers so sometimes things get a bit lonely….. It’s extremely discouraging being a personal style, adventure, life blogger because things are so expensive here……clothing, transportation, EVERYTHING…..but I guess that we all have our challenges……..

Can you relate to any of this????..........Tell me something about you........

much love xoxo

Hello friend

I'm thinking of changing the name of this blog.... It's something that I've been thinking of doing for quite some time. Deep Fried Stilettos will always have a place in my heart, it's the name that introduced me to the world of blogging, I've made many good blogging friends because of it..... I've been confused for the few months never quite knowing what to write about, the posts have been all over the place and  have been lacking the quality that I would like them to have..... So I've decided to change the direction that this blog is heading in......

I believe that the name Salted Freedom (original name of this blog) is better suited for what I want this blog to grow into but I just love the name Deep Fried Stilettos. Which name do you think most suits a life blog??
Whatever the name this will be a life and photo blog, diary, journal about a  Caribbean girl, about the things she does and feels, about the people she meets and about the adventures that she embarks on......

I'm rambling now.....so sorry.
I hope you'll stay and enjoy the ride

We took this photo along one of the winding mountain roads leading to Las Cuevas, a tiny beach on the north coast of Trinidad.

What do you think of the new concept behind Salted Freedom??
Do you prefer the name Deep Fried Stilettos???

Much Love
I've been listening to A Dustland Fairytale for the entire day. It's fast becoming one of my favourite songs by The Killers.......

The final verse gets me every-time, I want to shout it out....but I don't, because that would be embarrassing......

"Now Cinderella don't you go to sleep
Its such a bitter form of refuge
Ah don't you know the kingdoms under siege
And everybody needs you
Is there still magic in the midnight sun
Or did you leave it back in sixty-one
In the of the cadence in the young mans eyes
And where the dreams roll high"

These photographs were taken in a grove of trees behind my dormitory, The bright sunlight and the dark shadows were so ridiculously whimsical, I didn't know whether to leave the photos in colour or put them in black and white........

Do you like A Dustland Fairytale? Have you ever seen the music video??

Much Love
xoxo
