The sun is once again staking it's claim as master of the Caribbean.....(oh joy!! /sarcasm/)
I don't know what I prefer...the chill when it rains or the burning sun...today's answer: NEITHER!!!

I'd like to introduce you to someone...DARLINGS MEET BLUNT....JAMES BLUNT
If you love a moody man, with heartbreaking lyrics, you'll love him...I'm quite certain you've heard his...Your Beautiful :)
No Bravery is one of my favorite songs of his...it's moody and touchy and heartbreakingly (made a new word!) simple...wanna see the lyrics?...if not scroll down past it all :)

"No Bravery"

There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
Tears drying on their face.
He has been here.
Brothers lie in shallow graves.
Fathers lost without a trace.
A nation blind to their disgrace,
Since he's been here.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

Houses burnt beyond repair.
The smell of death is in the air.
A woman weeping in despair says,
He has been here.
Tracer lighting up the sky.
It's another families' turn to die.
A child afraid to even cry out says,
He has been here.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
But no one asks the question why,
He has been here.
Old men kneel to accept their fate.
Wives and daughters cut and raped.
A generation drenched in hate.
Says, he has been here.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

It's seems to me a lot of butterflies must have been crying last night.... resulting in very "mucky" photos
SORRY about the nasty back ground and all the mud!!!!

The heavy showers we've had and this butterfly print dress remind me of the Kerli song

Butterfly Cry

Let the butterflies cry
Let them cry for you
And you just dry your eyes
Because the world is wonderful
Let the butterflies cry
Let them cry for you
And you just dry your eyes
Because the world is wonderful
Oh, 'cause the world is wonderful

While the heavy showers we've had has led to all this mud...It's also resulted in CHERRIES ripe and juicy and ready for eating YUM!!!!! (so worth all the mud!)

Are you allowed to wear black and brown in the same outfit???...A little voice in the back of my head keeps screaming DON'T YOU DARE.... but what do I care...I never listen to myself! ha ha  :)

I think I look slightly weird and  "pissed" here...maybe I was mad at someone off camera... :D....or maybe I knew that only one photo would turn out OK....either way I don't like my weird "pissed" face !!

Have you ever heard of Uh Huh Her?...If you haven't and you LOVE Indie or Electropop (what kinda word is that?)...CHECK THEM OUT...(if you don't I STILL LOVE YOU...you can just scroll down pass this all it wont hurt my feelings HONESTLY! :D ).....

Long lives the fear
we'll be forgotten
It's a sad sad world we're in
to not believe something
And we'll stop the
world from falling
just to stay alive
And I say don't ask me why
do I disbelieve, tell me

Everyone is telling us
something's wrong with us
Everyone is saying
we're lost somehow
I wanna know
Do you believe in something
Everyone seems to have
lost themselves

Do tell me what you think!!

Just a quick photo of what I wore into the city...

It was raining cups and buckets... and I honestly didn't want to get out of bed and  leave the house...thus I wore the first top and bottom that came to hand...THANK GOODNESS THEY WENT OK TOGETHER ......wouldn't want to look like a complete odd ball!!! :)

Oh and before I forget...My 7 year old cousin took this photo...Not bad eh...(I think she's got a bright future in the business)

Do you have street vendors where you live?? Of course you do!! But I bet they don't ply their trade quite like ours do.....

Vendors selling fresh mangoes on the city streets...ever had a fresh mango??  If for some reason you haven't .....
Do tell me what you think...!!!

Remember this skirt??...I'm wearing it again because, well you've got to know sometime...and to put it bluntly...we've got a thing going on....

We're in love...or at least I AM!! Cant keep my hands off it!!! LOVE IT!!!

And please don't tell the shoes, I'd rather not break it's heart... :)

Do tell me what you think....

Hello darlings!!! :)

Nothing related to fashion today (unless you can draw inspiration from the colours of the photo below :) )...

Yes....onto the photo, I took it during my early morning run...It reminds me that no matter the ills of the previous day, each dawn holds the promise of a fresh, clean start... :)

Sorry about the wrong date :)  forgive me?
Hope you have a clean start from whatever your ills may be... today, tomorrow and forever.....

Do tell me what you think...is the dawn really a fresh start???

Today the sun "lingered" or so my dear old aunt said ... It was twilight for a mighty long time, I got the feeling that the sun was afraid of going to bed and letting the day end :) !!!

That got me thinking about all the days that I hadn't wanted to end, for me most of those were spent on the

(Wanna know something interesting???  I'll tell you anyways... On Antigua we've got 365 beaches... THAT'S ONE FOR EACH DAY OF THE YEAR FOLKS... :D  )

Below are photos of two of those days on two of those beaches...

On Little Fryes Beach...wearing a   print shirt as a dress

Line fishing at Mamora Bay (I think, I'm somewhere out there .... the water in the space between both sets of people was around 5 feet deep... perhaps my head is covered, as I'm only 4 ft 11''!!!)

Do tell me what you think...Have you ever wanted the day to "linger''???

Hello darlings!!!...Just a quick outfit post.... :)
Mummy dearest took these photos...not bad for a "technologically repressed" woman eh???

(Sorry about the wrinkled skirt...WRINKLES SEEM TO JUST LOVE MY CLOTHES!!!)

the glare this lovely glitter filled nail polish gives off is just horrible!!! It looks much nicer when it's not blinding you!! :)

Hope the photo's not to dark as to prevent you from seeing the shoes

This last photo is the reason behind the title of the post...it was taken by accident when lowering the camera yet the glare of the sun's rays through the trees seem to "capture my spirit" (or so I've tricked myself into believing!!!) :D What do you think???

Do tell me what you think...!!!! :)

Hello darlings I'd like to introduce you to Zee....
Zee meet my darling ""please insert name here"........(Always wanted to do that :] )

Zee is the one person's whose style I will absolutely love 98% of the time... Check out her outfit on a trip we took to  Devil's Bridge.....It is really breath taking yet knowing it's history makes it so creepy!!!!

This exert is from "To Shoot Hard Labour" the memoirs of a 104 year old Antiguan...

"On the east coast of the island is the famous Devil's Bridge. Devil's Bridge was call so because a lot of slaves from the neighboring estates use to go there and throw themselves overboard. That was an area of mass suicide, so people use to say the Devil have to be there. The waters around Devil's Bridge is always rough and anyone fall over the bridge never come out alive".

getting soaked by the ocean spray

Drying my dress in the hot sun and strong wind

Do tell me what you think!!!

Guess what my darlings!!.... There's no white or black in my outfit!!! (not counting the shoes ha ha : } )

I'm so excited!! Most of my wardrobe consists of black, white, gray or cream....IT FEELS SO GOOD TO BE IN COLOUR! WOO HOO!! What do you think of my attempt???

Do tell me what you think, does colour suite me or should I stick to plain old black and white???

(Please check out ''librarian girl'' below)

Has anyone else ever heard this Micheal Jackson song??......
Sometimes I think that I'm the only one who has!! :)

This outfit is my take on what a ''chic'' young librarian girl would wear!!!
(PS sorry about the wrinkles... the photos were taken after I returned home)

Do comment and  tell me what you think "chic" librarian girl or old maid!!??!! :)

When ever I see photos of people in trees the Billie Holiday song comes to mind,

Southern trees bear strange fruit
Blood on the leaves
Blood at the root
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees...

I don't think of the song because the photos are depressing and dark, I think of it because one of the last poems I did in high school quoted the tittle "Strange Fruit"... I THINK HIGH SCHOOL HAS SCARRED ME FOR LIFE!!! (Great Job Miss A, you've left your mark!)

Do tell me what you think of me as fruit... Should I stay put or get my bum down!!! :)

There are few things that remain constant in life... The coming and going of the tide, the salt that lingers in the seaside air, the destruction of rock and coral that brings forth sand...the sea, the one thing that seems impossible for humans to destroy as easily as they destroy all other things in nature...

Some call it escape, some call it paradise, I call it home...

please don't worry with the dates on the photos, I never remember to set my camera!

the sunrise behind the power plant near my home... couldn't resist putting it in!

I wanted to share my home with you, I hope you don't mind.
Do comment and tell me what you think of the beach and my amatuer photography!! :)
